Love in a time of metros

Love in a time of metros

The train hissed into the station like a metallic horizontal toronado
he got in, huddled into the corner
besides hundreds of arms gripping the overhanging roads
tiered faces plugged by headphones
dreamy eyes, staring at tiny screens on palms
he pulled out a book  and started reading; he is old school

and then he saw her

she's frowning
she sits on the edge of her seat
her handbag reading by her feet
her phone nowhere to be seen

she's reading a book
she looks up
their eyes meet
they stare at their books

paperbacks in hand
lips cracked a smile
he and she come out of the station
books exchanged (and phone numbers too)

Read my poems and monologues. They're short, sweet, normally exploring romance and life... the way I see it
